This landscape has been featured on the Historic Olde Newbury Garden Tour. Mara Landscape Design collaborated with Visionary Landscapes to create the ultimate backyard oasis. The client wished to have a private pool space that would be her sanctuary. The client lived in and frequented France. She loved the finer things and appreciated attention to detail.
We designed the ultimate backyard oasis. A biomorphic shaped soft to the touch liner pool. A swim deck was designed at the back of the space encompassed with a mixed privacy planting. The client picked out most of the plantings. Then it was our job to organize them and create a living painting with her chosen palette! She also preferred a tumbled soft on the feet bluestone patio with a Natural stone retaining wall.
This served as a raised plant bed for the mixed specimen plantings which consisted of Moonlglow Juniper, Cypress, River birch, Vanderwolf Pine, Chamaecyparis, Forest Pansy Redbud, Umbrella Pine, Kousa Dogwood, Threadleaf Japanese Maple, Baby Blue Eyes Blue Spruce, Weeping White spruce, Gold tip Arborvitae, Little Princess Spirea, Weigela, Hinoki Cypress, Blue Globe Spruce, and various perennials such as foxglove, salvias, daylily, Ostrich Fern, and Hosta.
Two 2 fire pits were also positioned in the design to be visible from the house and the pool.
