Basic Info About Project:
Planting installation continues for our phased landscaping at our Hamilton estate. Follow a maple tree line peastone drive to an expansive front entry and courtyard space. Large Kousa dogwood trees and a weeping cherry frame the home. A Hetzii Juniper hedge provides privacy and a delineation of the entrance into the garden. We began by clearing spindly pine trees and removing overgrown and invasive plants. Then we began our layering process to build it into a stately garden masterpiece.
Large specimen plantings served as anchors to the garden. Specimen plantings include White Fir, Serbian Spruce, Hemlock, Weeping Willow, Kousa Dogwoods, Higan Cherry, and Saucer Magnolias. Our next layer of planting install came in the form of various varieties of large shrubs. These helped to aid in the framework of the garden. We installed several varieties of Viburnum, Forsythia, Andromeda, Rhododendron, and Juniper.
Our next layer was in the form of smaller shrubs such as Butterfly bush, Girard’s Rainbow Leucothoe, Hydrangea varieties, Holly, and Russian Cypress. Other smaller shrubs included Seagreen Juniper, Little Princess Spirea, Rhodora Rhododendron, Blueberry, and Bloomerang lilac.
Now that we had our framework for our garden in place, we were able to add our perennials and groundcovers. These plantings consisted of Peony, Geranium, Nepeta, Salvia, Iris, Lavender, Pachysandra, and Allium.
It is exciting for our client to watch the garden mature and evolve in the years to come. This unique landscape will create many many beautiful memories.
